We don’t just provide a prosthetic device; we address the medical, physical and emotional needs of the patient.Our full service amputee patient care program was created in response to the frustration often faced by amputees and their family members. Our prosthetic providers have learned to listen to the needs of the amputee and we are constantly seeking ways to improve an already superior level of complete care. Amputee Peer Visitors
No matter how educated the healthcare team can be, nothing replaces talking to a fellow amputee. A Peer Visitor is an amputee that can truly understand and relate to the challenges and fears of our amputee patients. The Amputee and Prosthetic Center offers a team of amputee Peer Visitors just like you. From teenagers to patients in their 80’s, men and women of all activity levels are available to talk to amputees or those who may be facing the possibility of amputation. Whether you are have lost both of your legs or one arm, we have an amputee peer visitor that can relate to you and discuss what it’s like to be an amputee, from first-hand knowledge. Read More
Patient Support
Meet our patient advocates! The role of a prosthetic advocate is to facilitate communication between the amputee and their healthcare team. An overwhelming majority of amputee patients have told us that the most pressing need is not to be fitted with a prosthetic leg or prosthetic arm, but to be heard by all health care providers, whether it's their physician, nurse or prosthetist. The Amputee and Prosthetic Center is known throughout the country for utilizing and developing the most cutting edge prosthetic technology available to amputees. This level of technology insures that the amputee gets superior fit and function from their prosthetic limb. Our current CAD/CAM technology has virtually eliminated the discomfort of casting and made the process of creating limbs faster and more precise. Our conveniently located amputee patient care centers look nothing like that of most providers, because our role is more than the simple provision of a prosthetic limb, our offices are unique. Featured in multiple national publications, our locations are equipped with casual meeting rooms for amputees and their prosthetic team to discuss their care. We offer CAD/CAM scanner rooms that utilize the most up-to-date laser scanners working conjunction with large screen TVs. You can watch your prosthetic provider design your limb on the screen while you wait! Pediatric Prosthetics
The Amputee and Prosthetic Center staff is highly skilled in the specialty care of pediatric prosthetics. The needs of pediatric amputees are dramatically different than those of adults and only providers with special expertise in pediatric amputees and pediatric prosthetic devices can truly meet the needs of the pediatric amputee. Our large staff includes several practitioners who have chosen to specialize in the provision of prosthetic devices for child patients. Circle of Care
Our role does not stop at providing a prosthetic limb for the amputee; rather we assume the role of the catalyst that initiates the complete care for the amputee. Our staff members, many of whom are amputees themselves, become the intermediary between the prosthetic provider, the laboratory, multiple physicians and therapists to insure continuity of care for our amputee patients.
